Allaria loves to share the joy, elegance, and passion of Oriental dance with audiences and students alike. Even her name means joyful!
Her studies in anthropology and a love of many cultures eventually led her to the study of Oriental dance in 2004 and she has been hooked ever since!! Her movement background comes from her study in the performing arts, musical theater, ballroom and Latin dancing, yoga, and folk dancing from many world cultures. She attributes much of her discipline, balance, control, and body awareness to her decade long study of mulitple martial arts forms including Jow Ga Shaolin Kung Fu, Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing, and Tai Chi. Interested in all aspects of the power and grace of the dance, Allaria has also trained in American Tribal Style dance and was a member of the ATS troupe Rhythms and Cues.
Allaria currently performs at venues in Virginia and as a member of Saffron's Maqsoum ensemble. Ultimately, she believes that dance is a wonderful journey of expression and love and hopes to share this with her students!
