Keika discovered belly dance in 2002. First a hobby, it soon became a passion, as Keika fell in love with the beauty and sensuality of the dance. She was--and continues to be--inspired by how belly dance is shared by women of all ages, backgrounds, and shapes and sizes.

Over the years, Keika has studied with Asharah, Bozenka, Ebony, Raqia Hassan, Mohamed el Hosseny, Souhail Kaspar, Karim Nagi, Mohamed Shahin, and others. Keika has trained extensively with Saphira in the Saffron Dance teaching methodology, and was a founding member of Maqsoum Performance Company.  She continues to study with Faten and is the current director of Malfouf Student Company

Keika performs at restaurants, special events and private parties in the DC area. Graceful and emotive, she enjoys creating and performing both oriental belly dance and fusion pieces.

As a teacher, Keika gives thoughtful feedback tailored to each dancer's abilities, and her students describe her as patient and caring.  Keika hopes that students will discover an appreciation for the dance through her classes, as well as a stronger sense of self confidence and the positive effects of belonging to a supportive community of women at Saffron Dance.
