Keika discovered belly dance in 2002. First a hobby, it soon became a passion, as Keika fell in love with the beauty and sensuality of the dance. She was--and continues to be--impressed with how belly dance is shared by women of all ages, backgrounds, and shapes and sizes.
Over the years, she has studied with Asharah, Bozenka, Raqia Hassan, Mohamed el Hosseny, Souhail Kaspar, Karim Nagi, Mohamed Shahin, and others. She continues to study Oriental dance intensively with Saphira and is a member of Saffron Dance’s Maqsoum Company.
Keika solos at restaurants and special events in the DC area. Graceful and emotive, she enjoys creating and performing both oriental belly dance and tribal fusion pieces.
Keika hopes that, through her classes, students will discover an appreciation for the dance, a stronger sense of self confidence, and the positive effects of belonging to a strong community of amazing women at Saffron Dance.
